Egbe Omo Obokun of Ijeshaland - New
York/New Jersey Chapter. The "Egbe" as is fondly called, was established over 30years
ago to cater to the needs and welfare of all Ijesha sons and daughters
in the New York / New Jersey metropolitan area.
Our club recently celebrated the 30th Year Anniversary. It was a very
joyous occasion and a day to remember. The Special Guest of Honor for
the event was Chief (Mrs.) Titilayo Aminat
Atiku, wife of the then Vice President of The Federal Republic of
Nigeria. Mrs Titilayo Atiku was represented by Mrs.Tina Okonkwo of the
Nigerian Consulate, New York.
Our website serves as a learning place about Ijeshaland - the people,
culture and history. We plan events throughout the year, including
yearly cook-out, Nigerian Independence
celebration parades, members' life events, events from alliances with
other organizations, etc. We invite you to explore our website to learn

inaugural address at the Town Hall
Meeting and swearing-in of new Executives for 2010-2011. Read the

01-25-2010:
At a regularly convened monthly meeting of our Egbe on January 23, 2010,
new officers
were given the mandate to be the 'Chief Stewards' of this
Egbe for the years 2010 and 2011: A
Committee of Elders made up of (by
Constitution) all our Past Presidents was also announced. Swearing in of
the New Executives shall take place at our next meeting on Saturday
February 27, 2010. Please mark your calendar and if you are in NY/NJ
area, please join us as we deliberate on how to move Egbe forward and
get info on the latest from Ile Ijesa.Sumptuous dinner will be served!

11-09-2008: The
2008 Gala Nite of Egbe Omo Obokun of Ijeshaland
- New York/New Jersey Chapter has been announced. It will take
place on December 13th at Anthony of Padwall Hall, New York.
It's gonna be a spectacular night of fun, get-together, sumptuous
Nigerian & international Cuisines, Dance, Performances, Awards and all.
